Pointer for the first choice of keynote (most common)
Regarding the GMKS I have chosen different chord roots for the 6th and the 5th string as you can see. The reason is that on the 6th string C has good visibility and E as the chord root is a good choice for the 5th string. The most important thing is that you will be able to memorize the location of all the scales start notes as geometric images instead of all the interval formulas which can be harder to memorize. The blue plectrum shaped pointer indicates the first choice of keynote to use, for example when there are quick chord changes and when you have limited time to explore your other options.
